Hunger doesn’t take a Summer Vacation!
Locations for summer meals can be found at the bottom of this post. There are new locations available.
Beginning Monday, June 6th, ALL children ages 1-18 can enjoy FREE breakfast and lunch to accompany days of summer fun and educational activities through Provo City School District’s Summer Child Nutrition Program!
Assuring that all children have access to wholesome food during the summer when schools are not in session, the Summer Meals Program helps youths continue to learn and grow. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the federally funded nutrition program is open to all kids aged 1-18 years. No application is necessary to drop in for a meal and all children and teens are welcome!
The Provo Board of Education, Superintendent Rittel, and the Child Nutrition Program are committed to ensuring our children have access to safe and nutritious meals during the summer months when they can’t eat at school. Serving as a key building block of our community, the Summer Meals Program helps kids return to school healthy, happy and ready to learn!
The Summer Meals Program is available to all children and teens 1-18 years old. Children must eat their meal in the school cafeteria. Parents/Adults may purchase a breakfast for $2.00 and/or a lunch for $4.00 and enjoy a meal with their child(ren). Please be aware that the menu may change due to product availability.
Administered by USBE Child Nutrition Programs, the Summer Meals Program is located at approved sites that are in low-income areas or serve a group of children most of whom are low income. These meals must meet the same nutritional standards as the other Child Nutrition Programs.
Following is a list of schools with the dates and times they will serve breakfast and lunch during the summer break. Each school provides meals Monday through Thursday only. There is no program on Monday, June 20th and July 4th, 2022.
Provo School District’s Summer Child Nutrition Program is a wonderful opportunity for ALL children to enjoy amazing and nutritious meals during the summer. Exciting fresh fruits and veggies are on the menu regularly and occasional surprise specialty day activities light up the lunchrooms with health, wellness, fun and excitement!
We look forward to serving your children this summer!
