Hey Provost, Mr. Sprunger’s 6th grade class has been learning to code in several different ways this year.

They have learned some block coding over the last two months, and just started using a new type of robot (for them) called Sphero Bolts.  Tuesday, as they finished their most recent class book, Esperanza Rising, they divided into groups of two or three and chose an important scene or idea from the book.  Students then had to program their robots to demonstrate this scene or idea.  They used movement, timing, lighting, and sound cues.  Some groups demonstrated a specific scene in the book.  Several others demonstrated metaphors that run through the book.  They had fun demonstrating for the class!
