Hey Provost, did you know that regular school attendance can be a bigger predictor of student graduation than test scores? After the pandemic, the state of Utah has seen a dramatic increase in the number of chronically absent students. In the last decade, this number has nearly doubled. Provost has not been immune to this issue.
This month Provost Elementary is in a contest with Provo Peaks and Wasatch to see which school can have the highest percentage of students present at school. We are asking students and parents to please help us in making school a priority and beating both Provo Peaks and Wasatch and more importantly ensuring that your students are present and here for the important lessons that teachers have prepared.
Of course, we understand that students get sick and there are times when students need to stay home. We are not asking for students to come to school sick, but please encourage your students to be in school and be on time!
